My favorite of all my pictures. Godzilla versus the alien invaders!
What a bright sunny day, a perfect day for starting high school! Or is it?
Sometimes the unusual paths are the most fun.
A beautiful view from a beautiful lighthouse on a beautiful day.
Innocence is a beautiful thing, it's a shame to lose it. *evil grin*
We are such good friends. Me and this handsome devil have known each other for as long as I can remember.

IMM 110 Midterm

Proposal:
The portfolio that I have composed for the midterm consists of many different pictures that I’ve edited, changed, and otherwise altered. From color corrections to adding in pictures, they are all changed in some way.

Production Log:
Godzilla:
This was a picture that I took from atop a lighthouse from my family’s stay in Washington DC. The view was beautiful and, in my opinion, it would have been a crime to not photograph the beautiful scenery. Once given the task of adding pictures I thought to myself, “What would be the best way to enhance this picture?” The answer was obvious of course; I’m going to add Godzilla and a UFO of course! I pasted in Godzilla and the UFO keeping in mind the rule of thirds. I added motion blur to the UFO to give the static image some movement and a bit of story to add to it. Godzilla was pasted in as well, but I erased his feet and added a color corrected ripple at his feet for a sort of reflection. I wanted it to look like they were trying to fight one another.
Brother Color Correction:
A picture of my brother before his first day of high school. This is a cute little picture of my poor little brother before he has to endure the environment that is Hillsborough High School. Alas, the colors needed some work. So I added in some white balance, color enhancement, and some manual color editing. I even went in with the dodge and burn tool and corrected some of the highlights and shadows on his face and neck. He has such an innocent, yet almost pained look on his face; like he is regretting what is to come.
Mask Bros:
This was a picture I made in which I took two different pictures of myself in my dorm room and combined them with the mask tool in order to make it look like me, myself, and I are really good friends. We get along so well together!  Some dodging and burning was needed to make it a little more realistic though. The best friend you could really have is yourself.
Mask Roomies:
This is a picture of my roommate that I have ever so smoothly have crept into. I attempted to color correct him to meet halfway to myself when combining the two pictures with the mask tool, but it didn’t turn out quite how I wanted it to. I also attempted to alter the color of myself with hue and saturation as well as adding highlights and with the additional use of the dodge and burn tool, but it still didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted it to. Oh how innocence can be so easily tainted by the sly, mischievous friend, does he even know what is to come?
Rooftops:
This was a simple picture where I took a picture of the student center and added three people, two being the same person. They were cropped out of their original pictures and put into the picture of the student center. They were all resized, properly blurred, and shadows added in order to make them look like they are in the background. I should have desaturated the people on the roof however. Sometimes people take some interesting routes to class.
Ocean:
This is another picture that I had taken from my family’s trip to Washington DC.  The view from that lighthouse was absolutely breathtaking. In order to correct the colors, I first white balanced them and then color enhanced the picture. To finish it off and add an entire different view to the slightly gloomy day, I gave the entire picture a nice blue tone to it. The blue almost seems to make the entire scene appear more calming and inviting.

Self-Evaluation:
I think I have made some significant progress in my knowledge of photo editing since I have been in this class. Mostly considering that I had absolutely no knowledge of photo editing prior to this class. My skill needs work and I will need a lot of practice as well as learning a lot techniques and elements of the program. But I will learn. In the future I would like to be able to properly color correct pictures like “Mask Roomies”. I will need a lot of work in the future in order to be able to make convincing photo edits, but I am more than willing to learn and I enjoy it a lot.

I am fairly happy with my work however. I like the way that most of them have turned out and I am fairly satisfied with their outcome. My favorite by far is definitely the Godzilla picture. That one is by far the best in my opinion. I enjoy editing pictures and the outcome is always pleasing.
